Anna-May on signing up for Love Island
Welsh contestant Anna-May Robey opened up about the months leading up to her jetting of to South Africa in a bid to find love.
She opened up on how her parents weren’t thrilled with the decision at first as they feared that it won’t be the right move for her, however, then they got on board and were very supportive.
She told WalesOnline: “I kind of went in not expecting anything when I came out. They cut the social media as well this year, so the social media following is a lot less than what it would have been if I’d have been on the summer series.
“The process started for me at the end of November and then I flew out in January so it was really, really quick. To be honest with you, I didn’t really want to tell anyone about it.
“At the beginning, my parents were a bit like, ‘Oh God, I don’t know if this is the right thing for you to do,’ but when I started getting to the next stage, and the next stage, and the processes started getting really exciting, they became more excited than I was!”
